My first book review on SM Book Blog Title of book: why we sleep Author: Matthew Walker My rating: 5 stars Just finished reading this book that I bought as a birthday present as i was gifted a waterstones gift card by my sister. I had my eye on this book for a while and I had already read a chapter of this book inside the store. This book is on the recommended reading list of Bill Gates which you would find on Gates Notes. Now onto my review of this book. This book was an interesting read and I would definitely recommend it to science/ psychology/ health students. What I learnt from this book is that there is alot more to just obtaining around 8 hours of sleep per night. A person will go through light NREM sleep, Deep NREM sleep to REM sleep till wakefulness. These are the four stages of sleep and it has been found that some people have disturbed sleep in these stages such as those with Austism Spectrum Disorder. It has been found that not getting eno
